HOW WE WORK

One crew.
Demo to finish.

Most yards need more than one trade — tear-out, dirt work, turf, irrigation, pavers or concrete. Running that through separate contractors is where schedules slip and nobody owns the finished result. We handle it start to finish, including the demolition.

  1. 01

    Real Photos, Real Jobs

Every photo on this site is a yard we actually built — not stock. Ask to see any of them in person, or drive by if it's a neighbor's.

  2. 02

    We Do The Tear-Out Too

Old concrete, dead lawn, failed pavers, overgrown beds — demo and haul-away are ours. You don't line up a second contractor to clear the site first.

  3. 03

    Base Built For Caliche

Tucson ground has a cemented hardpan layer that doesn't drain and doesn't stay put. We dig through it and compact in lifts instead of building on top of it.

  4. 04

    Graded For Monsoon

Everything pitched so August runoff leaves the patio and the foundation. Flat looks fine in April and floods a back door in monsoon season.

  5. 05

    Scope In Writing First

You get the work, the materials and the price on paper before anything is dug. What's quoted is what's billed unless you change it.

THE CHEAP BID

Fine until
the first monsoon.

REAL WORK

Still rightin five years.

  2. 02 Dug through caliche, compacted in lifts
  3. 03 Turf and pavers graded to drain, not pool
  4. 04 Tear-out and haul-away included in scope

THE PROCESS

Four steps. No surprises.

TYPICAL TIMELINE — 1 TO 3 WEEKS
  1. 01

    Walk The Property

We measure, check equipment access, and look at where water actually goes when it rains — planting beds, turf and hardscape together.

  2. 02

    Written Scope & Price

Materials, layout, grade plan and irrigation runs, priced on paper. You approve it before anything moves.

  3. 03

    Demo & Build

Tear-out and haul-away, then excavation, base, pavers or concrete, irrigation and turf — sequenced so nothing gets torn back up for the next step.

  4. 04

    Walk It Together

Site cleaned, irrigation tested and running, turf seams checked. We walk it with you before we load up.

THE OWNER

Father and son.
Same crew every job.

At Landscaping & Concrete is a family business. Alejandro Trujillo owns it and runs the crew; his son Daniel handles the day-to-day and is usually who picks up the phone. Registered in Arizona since 2022, working across Tucson and the surrounding areas.

Every yard on this site was built by that crew. Nothing is subcontracted out to someone you'll never meet.

The truck shows up, the old material comes out, the base gets dug and compacted, the turf or pavers go in graded to drain. If something isn't right down the line, you're calling the same number you called for the estimate.

FAQS

Common questions.

Yes — that's the whole point of being one crew for both. Turf, plant beds and irrigation go in alongside pavers and concrete, so you're not coordinating two separate contractors and hoping their schedules line up.

Yes. Old concrete, cracked slabs, failed pavers, dead lawn, overgrown beds and old irrigation all come out as part of the job, and it leaves in our trailer.

We also take demolition on its own if you just need a slab or a yard cleared and hauled off — you don't have to be booking the rebuild with us.

It varies with the project — square footage, how much demo and grading is involved, equipment access, and materials all move the number. A typical job with us lands around $2,000, with smaller cleanups and larger full-yard builds on either side of that.

You get a written number before anything is dug, and it doesn't change unless the scope does.

Yes. Drip lines and plant beds get placed at the same time as the turf, so the irrigation actually lines up with where the plants end up instead of being guessed at ahead of time.

Yes, and you pick the level. One-time cleanups for an overgrown or neglected yard, or recurring visits on a schedule that suits the property — weekly, every other week, or monthly.

Recurring visits cover mowing and trimming, bed and gravel weeding, hedge and tree trimming, blow-down and haul-off, plus an irrigation check so a broken emitter doesn't quietly kill a plant for a month.

Concrete is cheaper up front, and if budget is the only factor it wins — we'll tell you that.

Pavers cost more and hold up better. A slab is one piece, so when the ground moves it cracks across the middle and the fix is replacing the slab. Pavers move with the ground, and a damaged one gets swapped individually.

Most residential yards run about one to three weeks depending on scope. A cleanup or a small demo can be a single day.

Material lead times and monsoon weather can move a schedule. You'll hear it from us if that happens.

We're on the phone and on jobs from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Early start is deliberate — most of the heavy work gets done before the Tucson afternoon heat.
